Cover Letter – UK Standard Visitor Visa Application

Dear Visa Officer,

I am writing to provide an overview of my planned visit to the United Kingdom and to clarify my travel purpose, accommodation plan, and financial circumstances in support of my UK Standard Visitor Visa application.

These locations are within central Edinburgh and can be visited efficiently during a short stay.

Accommodation Plan

The exact conference venue details will be finalized closer to the event. Once confirmed, I will book a hotel as soon as possible, with a preference for accommodation:

  • Close to the conference venue, and
  • Conveniently located near the main tourist attractions listed above.

All accommodation expenses will be self-funded.

Financial Background and Supporting Documents

I am financially independent and able to fully cover all travel and living expenses during my stay. The supporting financial documents submitted include:

  1. Bank of China Account

    • Used as my long-term savings account
    • Receives doctoral student allowances from Shanghai Jiao Tong University

  2. China Merchants Bank Account

    • Receives my internship salary from Alibaba
    • The internship is part of a university–industry cooperative program

  3. Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) Account

    • Used for investment and wealth management purposes
    • Includes financial support from my parents, specifically provided to support my investment and savings activities

  4. Investment Products via Alipay / Ant Fund Platform

    • Personal investment and wealth management products
    • The total value of my investment and savings assets exceeds RMB 160,000

Together, these documents demonstrate my stable financial situation and my ability to support myself throughout the trip.
